Advances in Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) have brought a revolution in communication sector and are having profound influence in education sector as well. ICT applications in education sector have transformed the way ‘knowledge ’is produced, processed, accessed and used by different individuals. Consequently, it has comprehensively enhanced the quality of education. Teachers now use these technologies to stimulate student's interests and thinking patterns; and learner's can control the time, and pace of learning through multifaceted ICT applications.
Keeping the above in view, an exploratory study was undertaken at Pantnagar University to ascertain the perceptions of Undergraduate agriculture students about ICTs. A pre-structured interview schedule was administered to a sample of 100 UG agriculture students, selected through stratified random sampling. The findings indicated that 95% students had positive perceptions about ICTs. The study also revealed that there was no major gender difference in the usage of ICTs although the frequency and extent of use was affected.
