Abstract

The present study was conducted in KVK's of Dariyapur (Raebarili) and Thariyan (Fatehpur) of Uttar Pradesh in the year 2007. The major findings of the study were that majority of farmers were illiterate, mostly belong to middle age group, higher adopter category concerned with adoption of improved package of practices except plant protection measures. Majority of farmers with mean score value of 3.916 agreed that KVK's training programme provides the scientific knowledge and skill in agriculture and allied fields. They (3.858 mean score value) also recognized that KVK's training programmes are effective method of transfer of technology. As far as constraints are concerned, un-economic land holding (mean score value 2.383) perceived as major Socio-economic constraints. At the time of conducting training, not considering the necessities of farmers (2.537 mean score) was observed as major managerial constraints in KVK's training programme. Training not imparted in prescribed manner was recognized as major technical constraint as perceived by the farmers.
