Content analysis is a set proceedures for collecting and organising non structural information into a standardised format that allow on to make influence about the characteristics and meaning of written material.
The present study was conducted in pourposively selected “Bikaner Panchayat Samiti” of Bikaner district, Rajasthan. For content analysis four Hindi newspapers namely Dainik Bhaskar, Rajasthan Patrika, Dainik Yugpaksha and Rastradoot were selected pourposively. The study reveals that the female foeticide news enjoyed maximum coverage in the year 2001 as compared to the year 2000, 2002 and after a gap of five years in 2007, there was not much difference in the amount of reporting although the situation of female foeticide in the country was turning grim by the day.
