Appropriate information sources have major contributions towards boosting the production and sustainability of agriculture in 21st century. The present study was conducted during the year 2007–08, to assess the acceptability of information sources used in rain fed rice production by the tribal farmers of block Tokapal in Baster district of Chhattisgarh. One hundred twenty Rice growing farmers were selected on the basis of simple random sampling and observational data were collected by structured interview schedule. The finding of investigation revealed that the rice being the most important crop of this state, production and productivity is very low due to resource poor and illiterate farmers of this tribal region. The study revealed that the major sources of information were Neighbours, RAEO's and Radio under personal localite, personal cosmopolite and mass media sources respectively.
