Abstract

The Information and communication Technology provides the flexibility in providing information on various mode of farming practices including the crops, commodities and enterprises, accessibility to the information without disrupting the routine engagement in their farm activities and all other information related to technology advances and global competitiveness. The study was conducted in Sojat and Sumerpur Panchayat Samities of Pali district. These Panchayat Samities have Agriculture Market Information Centre locally known as Krishi Upaj Bajar Kendra the reveal a very low level of use of ICT as a source of agricultural information by farmers. Even the members of market information centres run under the National Horticulture Mission (NHM) did not use those facilities. It is necessary to monitor the functioning of these centres for better use. There is a need for creating sound information support system to identify the regional problems of the farmers and provided need based information through ICT centers and to establish their activity among farmers.
