Abstract

This paper describes a study conducted on the attitudes of students, teachers and office staff towards the integration of the Web and internet as a channel of communication and educational medium at the G.B.P.U. of Ag and Tech, Pantnagar, India. We examined the incorporation of web communication and internet in their life and assessed the knowledge towards internet use and preference services. Questionnaires were answered by a representative sample (N=120). The findings show that when the use of the Web in colleges and workspace, respondents taking full advantage of it and getting rich experience in using computers and the Internet. The results, however, showing that the use of the Web increases as students advance in their studies, and users getting more knowledge about E-mail, World Wide Web, FTP, remote login, social networking, blog and chatting, although even the internet is not used as much BBS and Telnet services, either as a communication channel or as a study tool.
