Our country has a network of Krishi Vigyan Kendras and each one of them transfer technologies to the rural women on various aspects related to agriculture, health, nutrition etc. It is deemed essential that we ought to know how much knowledge they have gained and what technologies they have adopted. The present study is a step in this direction where knowledge and adoption of rural women regarding nutrition for self and family was found out in various adopted villages of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Jodhpur. Knowledge in the area of nutrition was found to be having a good status among the rural women under study whereas when seen in terms of adoption of those practices transferred by the Krishi Vigyan Kendra the picture was not very satisfactory. Actually, traditionally there is no concept of special food to be given during pregnancy, using germinated or fermented foodstuffs. A group of enlightened women can act as change agents to have more and more adoption of the various aspects and practices of human nutrition.
