A study was conducted to assess the utilization of information on fish farming techniques by fish farmers in Faizabad district of eastern Uttar Pradesh. For the study, a sample size of 100 fish farmers was used and pre-tested structured interview schedule was administered for data collection. The results of study revealed that the access of different cosmopolite sources was low as compared to interpersonal localite sources. The fish farmers relied more on neighbourers and private input suppliers for information access. There was no organized way of interaction among fish farmers at farm household level and inadequate extension services. There is a need to introduce periodicals in local language on cheaper rates for the fish farmers. Input dealers need to be trained and made skillful, so that right information can be transmitted to the fish farmers. There is a need for the extension agencies to regularly identify those sources of information that farmers prefer, or use most, as this will enable them deliver Fisheries information effectively to the fish farmers.
