Participation of women in fish related activities in India varies from state to state depending upon the local conditions, literacy level, type of fish resources infrastructure, type of technology and economic condition with the advent of mechanization. Women are generally involved in the management of aquaculture in small water bodies such as backyard ponds, but not in large water bodies.eg, lakes and reservoirs and along the coast. Appropriate information sources have major contributions towards boosting the production and sustainability of fishes in 21st century. The present study was conducted to assess the acceptability of information sources used in fish production by fisherwomen Lohaghat in Uttarakhand. Seventy five fisherwomen were selected on the basis of Simple Random Sampling and observational data were collected by semi-structured interview schedule. The finding of investigation revealed that major sources of information were neighbors, radio, television and mobile phone.
