Abstract

This study was conducted in Milkipur block of Faizabad district by conducting personal interview with 100 respondents which were selected through proportionate random sampling technique. There were 61 percent respondents found in middle age group i.e. 41 to 61 years and observed to be literate (76%), belonging to backward caste (65%), residing in joint families (63%) and 60 percent respondents having 6 to 11 members in their families. The maximum respondents (63%) were having marginal land holding and mixed type of housing pattern (49%) respectively. Agriculture was observed as main occupations (72%) and the respondents (43%) were having participation in one organization. The 45 per cent respondents were found such who had family annual income upto Rs. 45000 and the maximum numbers of respondents (68%) were observed in medium category (15 to 56) of overall materials possession. The radio (85%) and mobile (75%) were observed as main communication media with the respondents. The maximum number of respondents (72%) possessed medium level (25 to 42 years) of experience in agriculture. The maximum contact was observed with gram pradhan (0.69) under formal sources, family members (0.98) under informal sources and radio (0.95) under mass media exposure. A maximum number of respondents was found in medium level of scientific orientation, economic motivation and risk orientation with 68 per cent, 65 per cent and 81 per cent respectively.
