Journals provide a platform for all the researches not only in the field of extension education but also of agriculture and its allied sectors. The world's second oldest journal in the discipline of Extension Education, i.e., Indian Journal of Extension Education (IJEE), undoubtedly covers varied areas of researches in the field of extension education. This research paper aims at analyzing the content of papers published in IJEE during 2000–2004. Various questions have been answered through this paper like how much space is provided for various categories (Research papers & Research notes) of IJEE, what is the coverage and trends of content under various subject matter areas of extension education and likewise. Through this research it can be concluded that in 5 years (2000–2004) maximum (60%) articles were published under research paper category and rest under the research notes. Majority of articles were related to adoption and diffusion followed by psychology, research methodology and communication. The other areas included transfer of technology, entrepreneurship development, training in extension, mass media etc. Information and communication technology field was touched by the journal in the year 2004.
