Abstract

The study was under taken in Khajauli block of Madhubani district of Bihar to determine the constraints perceived by farmers in adoption of deep water rice production technology. The study shows that the major psychological constraint perceived by deep water rice growers was fearness of low productivity. Difficulty in getting photo sensitive varieties seed was rank first by the farmers in relation to technological constraint. Among the economic constraint, the lack of knowledge of increasing yield through better management was major constraint. Lack of regular effective training for upgrading knowhow and skill related to deep water rice production technology was the communicational constraints, where as competition from local rice varieties was the major marketing constraint.
