Pig farming is one of the most important farming systems of North Eastern region of India. As majority of the people of this region is meat eater, so there is good scope and potential of piggery in this region. Moreover there is no social taboo against rearing of pig in this region. But most of the farmers of this region are not rearing their pig in scientific way. Keeping in this view this study was carried out in Kamrup district of Assam. The education qualification and herd size of organized farmers were positive and significantly related to time spent on piggery. Annual income of the organized farmers was positively and significantly related to labour type. Age of organized farmer was found to positively and significantly relate with knowledge of enterprise and ability to co-ordinate entrepreneurial activities. Extension contact of organized farmers also had positive and significant relationship with decision making behaviour. In case of unorganized farmers age and family size were positively and significantly related with cost of production. Education qualification, annual family income, herd size and social participation of unorganized farming were positive and significantly related with system of rearing. Herd size of unorganized farming had positively and significantly related with knowledge of enterprise. Social participation and extension contact were positively and significantly related with decision making behaviour in unorganized farms.
