Information seeking and sharing behaviour of the farmers

Abstract

Majority of respondents own mobile (100%), television (100%) and newspaper (81.1%). Mobile phone was used daily by the respondents (100%) followed by television (93%) on daily basis. Some of the private Agri-input agencies were contacted by the farmers (53.3%) on regular basis and (22.2%) of respondents contacted BDO sometimes. all the respondents getting information and share it friends and relatives (100%) regarding seeds, chemicals pesticides, fertilizer, farm implements or any other information regarding agriculture. This is followed by neighbours (86.6%) and (84.4%) of the respondents go to progressive farmers respectively for seeking information. It was found that the respondents share their information with those from where they get information.
