Role of women in agricultural development

Majority of women participated in all the agriculture production and post-production activities like seed bed preparation, seeding/planting, weeding, harvesting, threshing and transporting, cleaning/grading and storage of agricultural produces. Education, farming experience, economic status, extension participation, mass media exposure, scientific orientation and knowledge about agricultural activities exhibited positive and strong correlation with the level of participation of rural women in agricultural development activities.
