Extent of utilization of information by dryland farmers

Abstract

In case of often information input sources friends were ranked first. Neighbours, relatives, Gramsevak, Agriculture Assistance, Agriculture Supervisor were ranked second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth in case of oftenlyinformation input use respectively. In case of once in a week input dealer stand fist and village local leader and progressive farmers stand second and firth respectively. In case of occasionally seeking information KVK staff rank first and in case of sources of information never used by farmer social forestry officer stand first rank and member of BTT or FIAC and Taluka Agricultural Officer stand second and third respectively. It also revealed that different methods of information input in case of oftenly individual contact was ranked first and television and newspaper second and third respectively. In case of once in week telephone communication rank first and radio at second position. Group discussion rank first in case of once in 2–3 weeks. In occasionally used methods exhibition stand at first rank and success story and krishi-Darshani at second and third rank respectively. in case of methods never used by farmers personal letter stand first rank and by visiting the demonstration stand second position.
