Abstract

The twelve important traditional agricultural knowledge/practices Communicated through inter personal communication channels by the Tribal farmers are-1. Summer ploughing 2. Use of farm yard manure/compost 3. Growing crops on bunds 4. Drainage of water during heavy insect-pest attack 5. Prediction of rain/barikha 6. Storm prediction (aandhi/tej hawa) 7. Frost prediction (kohra-khuasa) 8. Cow dung treated seeds 9. Burning of crop residues and grasses 10. Use of maize/castor as trap crop 11. Crop maturity identification 12. Sun drying of grains.
