The cell phones were widely used by the livestock owners irrespective of their social status. Almost all livestock rearing families owned a cell phone. The livestock owners preferred to get the livestock services at their door steps. They spent an on average Rs 306 per month on recharging their cell phones. They used cell phones to receive livestock services such as clinical, breeding and information services. Mainly the cell phones were used at the time of emergency cases such as dystocia, bloat, milk fever etc., the livestock owner contacted veterinarian (100%), para-veterinarian (91%), input supplier (66%), fellow farmer (51%) and milk man (42%) through cell phone. This study clearly brought out that the cell phone; a powerful ICT tool is being used effectively by the livestock owners in availing livestock services from the veterinarians irrespective of their social status.
