Abstract

The results indicated that majority of the students were in the age group of 21–25 years, residing in the hostels and were from nuclear families. Nearly half belonged to rural areas with family size up to 4 members. Family education of sixty per cent was up to matric and 35.5 per cent of the students ’family had an annual income of 2 lakhs and below. It was also found that socioeconomic variables were associated with time spent on accessing internet. Out of this, age, education, family education and family income were significantly and positively related with time spent on accessing internet.
