Abstract

Knowledge gain was categorized as per number of technologies adopted or remembered out of given package of specially 10 wheat production technologies to the farmers. Farmers adopted or remembered 5–6 technologies were put in high knowledge level, 4–5 technologies medium knowledge level and below 3 technologies adopted or remembered put in low knowledge gain category, respectively in Harda district of Madhya Pradesh. Younger farmers gained more knowledge through extension literature rather aged one. Education of the farmers under uncontrolled group farmers found positive and significant correlation related to their knowledge gain. Extension contact, media exposure and agricultural experience were found positive and significantly correlated with the knowledge gain and adoption through literature because these traits give strength and confidence and information to adopt improved technology rather to conventional method or old tendency of the farmers.
