Abstract

The results revealed that 90 percent of the respondents had poor to medium awareness compared to 10 percent had high awareness about environmental degradation caused by the use of modern rice cultivation technologies. Among the personal, social and economic characteristics of the farmers, academic qualification, annual income and technology use had significant relationship with their awareness.
