Abstract

In this study, the socio-psychological empowerment of farm women was measured in terms of 34 statements, 11 economic empowerment and 15 legal and political; empowerment statements. In total 60 statements which include positive and negative statements of rural women empowerment. The scale was developed and standardized for the research purpose. The findings revealed that, 51 per cent of the self help group members have high level of socio-psychological empowerment; 74.33 per cent of self help group members have high level of economic empowerment and 0.66 per cent of them have political and economic empowerment. It could be inferred from the study that, all three dimensions of empowerment play a pivotal role in development of individual ability and it leads to success of the groups.
