Abstract

The study revealed that farmers have recognized some practices such as growing short duration rice variety, following varietal diversification, early transplantation of seedlings, shifting harvesting maturity and transplantation of aged seedlings as the significant adaptive measures in minimizing crop damage by flash flood in the haor areas. In addition, the results demonstrated some identifying characteristics of farmers such as level of education, family size and attitude that were positively and significantly correlated with their adaptive practices.
