Study of Psychiatric Co Morbidity in Cases of Psoriasis, Undergoing Treatment

There has been continued interest in the extent to which Psoriasis patients show Psychiatric reaction.

To document various emotional reactions to Psoriasis & its effect to subsequent mental health out come

Data was gathered from the 50 new/follow up psoriasis patients referred from dermatology OPD to Psychiatric OPD of all age group.

Psoriasis was associated with high rates of depressive, anxiety spectrum and psychotic symptoms. However Psychotic symptoms were around four times less than Anxiety & Depressive symptoms.

Psoriasis was associated with all Affective, Psychotic & Anxiety related emotional reactions. The extent of affective Anxiety emotional reactions were subsequently high.
