Multiple Subcutaneous Tuberculous Abscesses of Extremities In An Adult Male: A Rare Presentation

Abstract

Tuberculosis is a common tropical disease with myriad presentation. Pulmonary tuberculosis is a common presentation in adults. Cutaneous manifestations as extra pulmonary tuberculosis is encountered rarely in clinical practice. We report a case of 26 years old male presenting to us with multiple abscesses and non healing foot ulcer. He had no pulmonary involvement. Montoux test was strongly positive with histological specimen showing acid fast bacilli in Zeil Nelson (Z N) stain. Diagnosis of tubercular gumma with non healing ulcer was entertained.Patient responded dramatically to anti tubercular treatment.
