The Effects of the Working Status on Subjective Well being of Women

Abstract

The present study aimed at exploring the impact of work status of women on her subjective well- being and stress. An attempt was also made to examine the association between stress and well being. Sample of the study consisted of 100 (50 working and 50 non-working) women, having age range of 25 to 40 year. They were then administered the measures of subjective well-being and stress individually. Results indicated statistically significant difference between working and non-working women on subjective well- being but there was no significant difference between working and non- working women on stress. The findings of the results also revealed that subjective well- being and stress are positively related for working women and negatively related for the non- working women.
