Secularism: Model Comparison Study And Religious Practices

Law, state and religion always form a triangular. Because of religion, the role of law and the state comes into question. That is why the study of the term Secularism becomes essential in the contemporaneous society. It forms all perspective either it is political, legal, social or judicial. Secularism can really be seen in country like India where the multi-cultural society exists; opposed to the mono religious countries. Various Countries follow their own models of secularism developed in their particular historical, cultural, religious and constitutional philosophy. But the truth is that the object of every model is same in essence.

In the present paper the researcher adopted the doctrinal research method. The study of various case laws of Indian Supreme Court compares the U.S. Model of Secularism with the model prevalent in India. The object of the research is - to bring the peculiarity of the Indian model in light and to show that how with the joint effort of authorities and people in general secularism is sustained in culturally diverse country.
