Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia is basically known for his views on socialism. Brains storming sessions and serious discussions on socialism have been the outcome of the views expressed by him on different occasions. He expressed his views on environment as well. That is why he was not only the great socialist but also as environmentalist in the true senses. ‘Save Himalayas’ and ‘Clean the Rivers’ occupied primacy in his thoughts. In the present paper the current crisis in Uttarakhand and increasing pollution in rivers can be traced to his views.
