In Indian context, the option of schooling for girls involves very different responses than the availability of the same institutions for boys. The role of the educational system in the life of a girl is to reinforce the values of consistency and obedience. In addition, the family creates ad awareness of and preparation for her future life. The present paper is a discussion on the anthology of such various contradictory existing patterns.
