Abstract

The mid of twentieth century saw an uprising of literary activities in south Africa. African literature came to have its own substantial life because English language itself became an African language. The twentieth century saw some major writers like Willam Plomer, Roy Combell Paulin Smith & Cara Gertude Milla. They presented sense of South African cultural identity.
