From the birth onwards down the corridors of sociological history the story of women was as secondary citizen. From Vedic period to Buddh period the social status of women partially improved. The social roles of women were limitised by the males. Birth of daughter in family was matter of sorrow. The present paper tries to discuss the status of women, especially as a daughter ih Buddh period.
