The government of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) state has formulated various schemes and policies for the development and upliftment of various sections of the society. This paper is an attempt to elucidate the struggle of prominent Dalit personalities in the formulation and implementation of the reservation policies in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The research deals with the evolution of the concept of reservation policies and various constitutional provisions enacted by Government of Jammu and Kashmir for the upliftment of the Dalits in the State.
