Women empowerment as well as their participation on the basis of equality in all spheres of society is fundamental to the advancement of human rights, social justice and sustainable development. However, it becomes imperative to discuss women rights in isolation in view of gender specific society where gender based curtailment of human rights do take place. Women rights are actually related to their biological framework which lead to physical and sexual violence and second, the issue of patriarchy; reinforced by culture, religion and region. The present paper tries to analyise the human rights of women in this multidimensional scenario.
