Modern Hindi poetry and short stories depict many social problems and discriminations by the device of ‘vyangya’. ‘Vyangya’ in Hindi literature is not merely laughter or a painful pinch; it has great value owing to the ‘samajbodh’ in it. Though Hindi literature has always been awakening people against social evils since its origin, yet modern poetry and short stories are doing great efforts to eradicate discrimination whether it is social, political, religious, economic or administrative. There are so many examples of such literature like short stories by Harishankar Parsai, Amrit Ray, Chitra Mudgal, Vishveshwar, etc. and short poems by Nagarjun, Bharat Bhushan Agrawal, Vishwnath Prasad Tiwari, Vishnu Nagar, Sunil Kumar, Neelesh Raghuvanshi etc.
