Indian society has undergone severe changes at various stages of history. If we trace the social changes that mark the Indian history, the roots can be found as deep as the Harappan civilization itself. In the present time too our society has been undergoing various changes. In particular, the globalization is the major factor in affecting the social change and its pattern. In the era of globalization, on the one hand, discussing global connectivity etc., on the other hand, space for human relations is shrinking. Animosity in the society is increasing. Nuclear families are being preferred to joint families. Globalization has attacked the conservative thinking and much has changed positively too. This social change requires sociological study and this paper addresses this need by analyzing different aspects and dimensions of the social change.
