Indigenous knowledge/local knowledge/folk knowledge/people's knowledge/traditional wisdom/traditional science are knowledge unique to a culture or community. Such knowledge is passed from generation to generation through oral/unwritten traditions and hence useful in creating sustainability in societies and that is why this traditional knowledge needs to be brought before the world. In this backdrop, the present paper attempts to discuss the indigenous knowledge of Bharia tribe of Patal Kot whose local knowledge is undergoing degeneration due to the impact of outer culture on the Bharias. Bharias’ traditional knowledge in the field of water conservation, medicines etc. can be very useful for the mankind and there is always ample scope for modern science to learn from traditional indigenous knowledge.
