The culture of the dominant in any society is generally so dominant in nature that it tries to submerge all other cultures and thought processes in itself. But there is something which goes parallel to it, i.e. ‘culture of resistance’. And this culture or ideological stand of resistance survives because of the belief of some people in the idea that by virtue of being human, we have got some rights. The privileges decided on the basis of birth don't define one's life. Suryakant Tripathi "Nirala" was one of such persons who despite being born in a privileged family stood and fought for the rights of downtrodden. He gave voice to the voiceless and in his personal life faced severe challenges because of his ideological stand. This article explains Nirala's culture of resistance which he represented throughout his life and the culture of which his writings are an epitome of.
